Your Board of Directors met online Tuesday evening [May 26, 2020] and after thoughtful discussion and consideration, made the difficult decision to cancel the summer recreation program due to COVID-19. We all wanted to conduct a safe recreation program this summer but could not find an easy path forward to do so. However difficult, our decision is the correct one. In keeping with current public health guidelines, we have also cancelled our planned 4th of July Picnic along with the lake swim due to social distancing requirements. The good news is that we do plan to hold our famous Chicken BBQ on July 18th. More details and plans for ordering to follow.
The BMPOA has greatly valued Kurt and Maggie Pardue’s leadership of the Recreation Program over the past several years. In consideration of their agreement to return for the 2021 summer season, we have agreed to keep them ‘on retainer’ this summer and also allow them to use the Strack Camp. Please reach out and say hi to them.
The BMPOA Annual Meeting is planned for Saturday July 18th at 9 AM and will most likely be held via a Zoom Video call. Details to follow.
We understand this is a very disappointing message for those counting on great swim lessons and fun with Big Moose friends. We hope you create your own outdoor recreational activities in a healthy and safe manner this summer.
Thank you for your understanding and I hope to see you at the lake soon.
